Who we are
It all started in 1984 when Al Marquis formed Marquis & Associates. That start-up company became one of the largest providers of construction insurance and surety brokerage services in New Jersey. In the early 1990’s, with a growing business, Marquis & Associates took on Messrs. Forenza, Pitts and Sciortino as partners.
In 1997, with Bill Linney as part of the group, the partners went to work for Willis and, until 2006, ran the New Jersey/New York Construction Practice, nearly tripling the size of the practice over that period of time. In April of 2006, partners Al Marquis, Pete Forenza, Rob Pitts, Jay Sciortino and Bill Linney formed
Construction Risk Partners.
In the early years, Mr. Marquis wrote the first bonds for some of the biggest contractors in New Jersey. Subsequently, the partners have bonded and insured billions of dollars of construction projects, and they intend to bond and insure billions more in the years to come.

- Peter Forenza
has 23 years of experience in the business and will oversee the insurance operations of Construction Risk Partners. He is known for his high level of technical and creative ability in program design and marketing.
- Rob Pitts is a thirty-year surety veteran. He is known by clients and associates for his pragmatic approach to business while providing sound surety advice. Rob will manage the bond department at
Construction Risk Partners.
- Bill Linney is part of the production team and is active in both insurance and surety departments. With 10 years in the industry, he is a fine client advocate who has the ability to produce and service both large and small accounts.
- Al Marquis has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years with an impressive record of success. While he leads the production team, he is widely recognized as one of the best surety professionals in the business.
- Jay Sciortino has served the insurance industry for over 28 years and oversees claim and loss control issues with an industry reputation for providing responsive client advocacy. Jay also provides valuable support to the insurance department.
